In the week of 11-14 May 2021, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) started five control procedures regarding three local councilors. A local councilor from the Limbenii Noi Council, Glodeni district is being checked for a possible conflict of interests. In another investigation, there is a councilor from Copceac village, ATU Gagauzia, in which his declared wealth is analyzed, and a councilor from the Falesti District Council is verified if he complied with the legal regime of incompatibilities. On the aspect of incompatibility of public office, a mayor from Ungheni district is also targeted, on whose name a control procedure was initiated. Three finding acts concerning a conflict of interest were issued by the integrity inspectors. Conflicts of interests committed by a mayor from Călărași district and a former mayor from a suburb of Bălți municipality were established in two finding acts. A head of kindergarten from Criuleni district has been found with a conflict of interests.
A councilor from Băcioi village Council of the Chisinau Municipality and a councilor from Glodeni District Council risk a fine for violating the rules of submitting declarations of assets and personal interest. In these respects, contravention cases were initiated for late submission or non-submission of declarations of assets and personal interest.
Four mayors complied with the ANI law and each declared a conflict of interest. These are the mayors from Băcioi village of Chisinau Municipality, Hirova village from Calarasi district, Baurci village from Ceadar Lunga district and Dragușenii Noi village from Hincesti district.
The Legal Department of ANI represented the institution in 10 court hearings regarding the contestation of the finding acts issued by the integrity inspectors. At the same time, ANI participated in the first court hearing in order to confiscate the property of a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
76 notifications were registered in the ANI Chancellery and ANI representatives provided 82 phone consultations in the field of activity, including 9 calls registered to the Institutional Information Line.
