In the week of June 28 - July 2, 2021, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) concluded the control procedure on a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. It became the subject of control, following an ex officio notification submitted by an integrity inspector based on public information. During the control, the integrity inspector established several findings of violation of the legal regime of incompatibilities. With details about this case, ANI will return in the coming days.
At the same time, nine control procedures were initiated. The control of the property includes a director of a medical institution, a public servant with special status within the North Office of the Customs Service, a Head of Directorate within the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance and a former public servant within the State Tax Service.
A mayor from Soldanesti district, a former mayor from Calarasi district and two directors of medical institutions (one of whom is also involved in asets control) are checked for possible conflicts of interest that they would have committed being in the public office, which they did not declare or resolve within the legal deadline. The head of a Directorate subordinated to the Dondușeni District Council came under the scrutiny of the integrity inspectors, after the institution was notified that he would also hold an incompatible position. Integrity inspectors will examine all these situations and issue decisions regarding the subjects.
Last week, integrity inspectors found four more conflicts of interest and another incompatibility. A mayor from Drochia district, a director of a Sports School from the north of the country, a secretary of a Council from Anenii Noi district and a director of a Kindergarten from ATU Gagauzia were established with conflicts of interest. Also, a councilor from the Falesti District Council held another incompatible position.
Four mayors from Ungheni, Leova, Anenii Noi and Drochia districts declared a conflict of interest at ANI. Over the course of three days, they received solutions from integrity inspectors to resolve conflicts of interest.
ANI participated in 25 court hearings in defense of the acts finding, which were challenged by the subjects of control. At the same time, 13 Certificates of Integrity, requested by employers, for access to public office, were issued.
ANI representatives organized a training for 42 subjects. 90 consultations were offered to subjects of declaration. 85 telephone calls were answered, including 19 at the Institutional Information Line.
