Between December 20-24, 2021, the Integrity Inspectorate of the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated four controls. In two control procedures, regarding the possible violation of the legal regime of conflicts of interest, a deputy head of the Department of the Ungheni District Council and a mayor of Cantemir district are targeted.
Two control procedures, for possible violations of the legal regime of the property, were initiated regarding a mayor from Drochia district and a civil servant with special status from the Customs Service.
Initial control was also refused in 18 cases for lack of reasonable suspicion of infringements, including 10 for property, 6 for conflicts of interest and two for incompatibilities.
Integrity inspectors issued seventeen documents, including violations of seven laws. A finding act was issued for unjustified fortune regarding a former Member of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. In another six Acts of Conflict, there were conflicts of interest admitted by an interim director of a public institution of MEC, a former mayor of the suburb of Chisinau, a mayor of Criuleni district, a mayor of Falesti district, a councilor in Grigorievca Council, Causeni district and a former mayor of Falesti district.
Two minutes were drawn up regarding the contravention: for not submitting the declaration of assets and personal interests by a councilor of the Miciurin Local Council from Drochia district and for violating the legal regime of conflicts of interest by a mayor from Rezina district. Fines totaling 10,500 lei were imposed.
ANI's legal department participated in 15 court hearings to defend the findings, issued by integrity inspectors and challenged by the subjects of declaration.
ANI representatives answered 116 calls, of which 28 to the Institutional Line. Upon request, 10 Certificates of Integrity were issued.
