In the week of January 10-14, 2021, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated two control procedures on the legal regime of conflicts of interest regarding two members of the Superior Council of Magistracy. The investigation was initiated on the basis of an ex-officio notification, following a television broadcast from one of the Council meetings, during which the two members allegedly participated in a voting procedure in which they were targeted. Thus, the integrity inspectors will check and determine whether the actions of the two subjects of declaration represent or not a violation of the legal regime.
A property control was initiated on behalf of a prosecutor from the Orhei Prosecutor's Office and a civil servant with special status within the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP) of the Ministry of Interior. A civil servant with special status within the Customs Service and another civil servant within the Chisinau Municipality State Tax Inspectorate are being verified for possible incompatibilities.
Last week, integrity inspectors identified two violations of the ANI special law, which were committed by a former head of a state university and a civil servant with special status within the North Customs Bureau. They were established with a conflict of interest in the public service and the documents can be viewed on the ANI website.
Another civil servant with special status within the Customs Service is verified in a contravention case initiated for the late submission of the declaration of assets and personal interests.
In another 19 cases, integrity inspectors refused to initiate proceedings of property control, conflicts of interest and incompatibilities. Minutes of the inspectors' refusal and their arguments are published on the ANI website.
Seven conflicts of interest were declared to ANI by the subjects of the declaration, which were resolved by the integrity inspectors.
18 Certificates of Integrity have been issued to candidates for public office.
ANI representatives provided 168 telephone consultations, including 40 to the Institutional Information Line.
Since the beginning of 2022, over 160 declarations of assets and personal interests (employment/release/annual) have been submitted on the Public Portal of Declarations.
