In the week of January 17-21, 2022, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated five control procedures. In four cases, possible conflicts of interest are targeted, admitted by a mayor from Floresti district, who also appears in a control on incompatibility of office. One councilor in the Hăsnășenii Mari Council from Drochia district and in the Mereșeni Council from Hincesti district, as well as a principal of gymnasium from Ocnita district. Eight violations have been determined by integrity inspectors. In seven cases, were identified with conflicts of interest: a former director of the Municipal Enterprise in Balti, a former director of S.A. from Cahul, a former director of a Regional Development Agency, secretary of a district council, an administrator from public institution from Singerei, a mayor and a kindergarten director from Singerei district. In other case, a councilor from the Visniovca Council, Cantemir district were found with incompatibility of the office.
In 14 cases, integrity inspectors refused to initiate controls. The mayors, local councilors and secretaries of council are mostly specified in the refusal of initiation minutes.
Three contravention cases were initiated in the previous week. Thus, the general manager of a state-owned enterprise subordinated to the Public Property Agency could be fined for failing to submit the declaration of assets after taking his office. Likewise, a former director of a municipal enterprise in Bălți and the secretary of a district council risk a fine for not declaring conflicts of interest. ANI lawyers represented the interests of the institution in 15 court hearings.
ANI issued 17 Integrity Certificates and resolved six conflicts of interest. ANI representatives provided 128 telephone consultations, including 39 on the Institutional Information Line.
