The National Integrity Authority (ANI) has initiated four control procedures. In a case regarding the incompatibility of office, a prosecutor from the Chisinau Prosecutor's Office is being investigated. And, for possible conflicts of interest in the civil service, a councilor from town of Vulcănești, a mayor from Anenii Noi district and a middle school principal are being checked.
In 21 cases, integrity inspectors refused initiation of controls. Most of these rejections include local elected officials. Two violations were found by integrity inspectors. An unjustified fortune of over 400 thousand lei was identified in the case of a former civil servant within the Fiscal Service and a conflict of interests was established in case of a former administrator of a municipal enterprise from Drochia district. A former director of a municipal enterprise in Bălți risks a fine for not declaring or resolving a conflict of interest in time. Contravention cases were initiated on the name of four local councilors from Dubasari and Straseni districts for violations of the rules of submission of declarations of assets and personal interests.
Eight Integrity Certificates were issued by ANI, and 17 declarations of conflict of interest were registered with the integrity inspectors for control.
ANI representatives conducted 10 online training sessions for about 1,200 subjects of declaration of assets and personal interests. At the same time, telephone consultations were offered on 279 calls, including 54 to the Institutional Information Line.
From the beginning of the year until now, about 8000 civil servants submit their declaration of assets and personal interests on the Public Portal, out of the 55-60 thousand of subjects of declaration. Please note that the deadline for submitting declarations is March 31. For the violation of the term provided by law, the non-submission or non-declaration of all the information regarding the property, the subjects bear legal responsibility.
