Between 23 and 27 May 2022, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) found four violations of ANI legislation. In three acts of finding, a conflict of interest was established regarding two mayors from Telenesti and Floresti districts and a former high school principal from Edinet district. During the control of property and personal interests of a mayor from Soroca district it was identified that he did not declare his property according to the law.

The acts of finding that have been issued in respect of these four subjects regarding the violation of the legal regime of conflicts of interest or of the violation of the legal regime of assets and personal interests are not final, and those concerned are entitled to challenge the decisions of the integrity inspectors.

The integrity inspectors initiated two procedures to control the legal status of property and personal interests. A former project manager from Chisinau is targeted, as well as a municipal councilor from the south of the republic.

Two contravention cases were initiated for failure to submit the declaration of assets and personal interests and failure to resolve the incompatibility in time. The first case concerns an institution head and, in the second case, a former civil servant with special status.

Two minutes of the contravention were drawn up. Thus, a mayor was fined 9,000 lei for not declaring and not resolving a conflict of interest. Another fine, in the amount of 2250 lei, was applied to a counselor for not submitting the declaration of assets and personal interests.

During the previous week, ANI received 18 calls to the Institutional Information Line and provided 42 telephone consultations to the subjects of declaration.

The legal department of ANI participated in 27 court hearings, of which in two hearings the cases regarding the confiscation of property were covered.

ANI resolved a conflict of interest and issued 7 Certificates of Integrity.
