In the week of July 5-09, 2021, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) established a substantial difference of over one million lei in a finalized wealth control on a judge from the Chisinau Court, Riscani Office. The control took place on the basis of ANI’s ex-officio notification. Authority will provide more details, in a press release. Last week, ANI inspectors launched five new controls. Thus, the assets of a magistrate from the Cahul Court are verified, but also of an interim general manager of a municipal enterprise from Chisinau and a public servant from Vadul lui Vodă City Hall, Chisinau Municipality. Also, two possible conflicts of interest are investigated, which were allegedly admitted by the director of a gymnasium in Chisinau and the director of a kindergarten in Calarasi district.
The integrity inspectors started two contravention cases for non-submission or late submission of declarations of assets and personal interests. Thus, a head of department within the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and an advisor from the Copceac Council from Ceadâr Lunga district could be sanctioned for violating the rules on declaring assets and personal interests. A control on a former official from Penitentiary nr. 13 has been drawn up regarding a contravention, which was sanctioned with a fine in the amount of 1750 lei for the late submission of the declaration of assets and personal interests.
Three other subjects declared a conflict of interest at ANI: a mayor from the suburb of Chisinau and two mayors from Hincesti and Anenii Noi districts.
ANI legal stuff represented the interests of the Authority in 13 court hearings for the defense of the finding documents that were challenged by the subjects found with violations.
ANI representatives answered 71 telephone calls, including 15 to the Institutional Information Line. ANI issued 17 Integrity Certificates.
