In the week of September 20-24, 2021, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated the control of the property on a head of district’s Prosecutor Office. Also, the wealth of a mayor from Soroca district will be verified by the integrity inspectors. A director of a municipal enterprise from Causeni, an administrator of a public organization from Cahul and a local councilor from Cimișlia district are targeted in three possible conflicts of interest. An official from the Agency for Technical Supervision is being investigated for possible incompatibility.

The integrity inspectors established four conflicts of interest as a result of the completed controls. Mayors from Leova, Ștefan Vodă, Soroca districts are targeted, as well as the mayor of a city in the north-east of the republic.

Three contravention cases were initiated for non-submission of declarations of assets and personal interests and for violation of the legal regime of incompatibilities. Thus, two councilors from Nisporeni and Dubasari districts will be fined for not submitting the asstes declarations, and another councilor, from Cantemir district, will be sanctioned for not resolving his incompatibility situation in due time.

Two other mayors from Rezina and Anenii Noi districts were included in the Register of Conflicts of Interest. They complied with the legislation in force and declared to ANI a conflict of interest with those close to them.

The legal department of ANI participated in 34 court hearings to defend the decisions of the integrity inspectors in the finding acts. In terms of prevention, ANI representatives provided consultations on 88 telephone calls, including 12 calls to the Institutional Information Line.
