In the week of 11-15 October 2021, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated eight controls. In seven control procedures, regarding possible conflicts of interest admitted during the public office, are targeted two directors of public institutions, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, two mayors from Drochia districts and Stefan Voda, a district councilor from Rezina, an official from the town hall of Hâncești and a gymnasium director from Straseni district. A property check was initiated on behalf of a public servant with special status of the Customs Service.
Two violations of the law were established by the integrity inspectors. A councilor from Cahul district was found with a substantial difference between the acquired wealth and the income, and another local elected member of the Vadul lui Vodă Council from Chisinau Municipality was found with a conflict of interest, undeclared and unresolved in time.
Three contravention cases were initiated for failure to submit declarations of assets and personal interests. These are three councilors from the Lăpușna Council, Hîncești district, who risk a fine for non-compliance with this obligation.
Five conflicts of interest were resolved by the Integrity Inspectors, and 10 Integrity Certificates were issued at the request of the employers.
The legal department of ANI participated in 25 court hearings to defend the acts of finding and in a hearing on a case of confiscation of property.
ANI representatives provided 43 telephone consultations, of which 20 calls were registered at the Institutional Information Line.
