In the week of December 13-17, 2021, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated eight control procedures. Four controls target possible conflicts of interest, which were allegedly admitted by three mayors from Nisporeni, Causeni and Telenesti districts, as well as a councilor from Cahul District Council. A former head of Department from the Chisinau City Council is being investigated during a property check. A councilor from the city of Glodeni and another councilor from the Cimișlia district are targeted in the control of the incompatibility of office. A control procedure on restriction and limitation was initiated on behalf of a former State Tax Service official.
Three violations have been established by integrity inspectors. Conflicts of interest were identified in two finding acts, which were admitted by a mayor of Rezina district and a councilor from Cimișlia district. A former deputy minister and secretary of state was found with an unjustified property in the amount of over 1 million lei. Fines of over 13 thousand lei were applied on behalf of a director of a joint stock company subordinated to the Public Property Agency and two councilors from Straseni and Cimișlia districts.
ANI issued 32 Certificates of Integrity and resolved 12 cases of conflicts of interest, which were declared in accordance with the law. ANI lawyers represented the interests of the institution in 25 court hearings, of which one participation in the hearing concerned the case regarding the confiscation of the property of a former Member of Parliament.
ANI representatives answered 102 telephone calls, of which 18 calls were registered at the Institutional Information Line.
