In the week of March 28 - April 1, 2022, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) imposed fines totaling approximately 10 thousand lei on behalf of a special civil servant and a head of an educational institution. The of the institution was sanctioned for impeding the activity of ANI, and the civil servant with special status for the late submission of the declaration of assets and personal interests.
The integrity inspectors have initiated a control procedure on the legal regime of incompatibilities, in which a civil servant with special status is targeted. In seven cases, violations were established, for which integrity inspectors issued acts of finding. Thus, a civil servant was found with the violation of the legal regime of the assets and personal interests, with a substantial difference of over 658 thousand lei, an amount that is to be subject to the confiscation procedure. A civil servant with special status was identified with omissions in the declarations of assets and personal interests submitted in 2018 and 2019. A hospital director was found with a conflict of interest, and three district councilors allegedly held simultaneously other incompatible positions with the public one.
During the period in question, a contravention case was initiated regarding the non-submission of the declaration of assets and personal interests by a local councilor. ANI resolved three conflicts of interest and issued 17 certificates of integrity.
ANI representatives provided telephone consultations on 1,116 calls, including 215 on the Institutional Information Line. About 17,000 declarations of assets and personal interests were submitted during the reporting period.
