Between 03 and 13 May 2022, the National Integrity Authority drew up seven minutes regarding the contravention in a total amount of 22 thousand 500 lei. Some of the fines were applied for non-submission of declarations of assets and personal interests by two councilors and a civil servant. A head of state enterprise, a mayor and a councilor were fined for violation of the legal regime of incompatibilities. Another civil servant paid a fine because of the late submission of the declaration of assets and personal interests.
ANI initiated six other cases. They include two civil servants, a mayor and three councilors. Subjects risk a fine for violating the rules of submission of declaration of assets and personal interests or for not declaring and not resolving conflicts of interest.
During the reference period, the integrity inspectors initiated three control procedures. Two investigations have been launched into possible breaches of the legal regime of conflicts of interest by a local councilor and a director of preschool institution. And, in another case, the integrity inspectors will determine whether a civil servant with special status was in a situation of incompatibility.
The Integrity Inspectorate issued four acts of finding, establishing two conflicts of interest and two violations of the legal status of the declaration of assets. Thus, two customs officials were found with omissions in the declarations of assets, and a magistrate and a mayor each admitted a conflict of interest.
Subjects in respect of whom were issued acts of finding of violation of the legal regime of assets and personal interests or legal regime of conflicts, are entitled to challenge the decisions of integrity inspectors, which are not final at this time.
ANI's legal department participated in 34 court hearings, including three seizure cases.
ANI resolved five conflicts of interest and issued 18 Certificates of Integrity.
